Montreal Fights but Falls Short

Montréal, April 1st 2024

After a lengthy trip to Newfoundland, Montreal returned home to play three games. Over this weekend, the Toundra will be donating 50% of its ticket sales to the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation.

On Friday night, the Montreal Toundra was edged out 122-119 by the Windsor Express. The Montreal team was aiming for a third consecutive victory. In the loss, Dominick Welch led the scoring with 34 points, making 8 of his 12 shots from downtown.

Saturday night saw the London Lightning visiting the Pierre-Charbonneau Centre. Unfortunately, just like the night before, the Montreal Toundra couldn’t secure a win at home, falling 109-98 to the Lightning. This marked a second consecutive defeat. In the loss, Philip Flory was the top scorer with 26 points, and Dominick Welch achieved a double-double.

On Sunday afternoon, the Toundra hosted the BSL’s top-ranked Kitchener Waterloo Titans. The Toundra were narrowly defeated 105-102, marking a third straight loss. In this defeat, seven players scored 10 points or more. Tafari Beckfort stood out with a double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Notably, Philip Flory did not play in the game.

The Toundra’s next game is scheduled for Sunday, April 7, against the Newfoundland Rogues at the Pierre-Charbonneau Centre.
